Nicole and Ray met at work and became fast friends. They started dating and then eventually Nicole moved a few blocks down the street into his place. In 2018 they moved across the country together, settling in San Francisco, California. Shortly thereafter Ray proposed while on vacation in Seattle, with Nicole’s family waiting nearby to celebrate with them.
With most of the couple’s family and friends living on the East Coast and the couple themselves living on the West Coast, trying to plan a wedding while making sure it worked for everyone started to get complicated. So the couple decided on a small, intimate ceremony in Maui with just close family present at the breathtaking, oceanfront Kukahiko Estate.
Their Maui wedding vision was chic elegance with a touch of tropical in soft shades of blush. We started with a beautiful blush bridal bouquet with a tropical King Protea included to bring in the tropical element that the bride requested. The ceremony arch was decorated in Hawaiian Monstera leaves complete with blush and ivory roses that complimented the bridal bouquet perfectly.
After a beautiful ceremony and stunning portraits around the Kukahiko Estate, the couple and their guests traveled to Gannon’s Wailea for their dinner reception to be held on the Upper Pond. Dark wood farm tables were adorned with blush and ivory flowers with touches of greenery, just like their wedding decor. They dined on a fabulous meal under the stars surrounded by close family, and the couple wouldn’t have had it any other way.
Congratulations to the newlyweds, we wish you a lifetime of love and Aloha, from all of us at Makena Weddings!
